Does the Bible Have the Answer to Man’s Problems?

Psalm 19 seems to thinks so.

Many today say the church is ob-so-lete.

The church is old fashion – out of date.

The Bible is the wisdom of the ages.  It is as new as the morning paper.

It is the love letter from God.

It is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Jesus is the answer – and we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is.

1. The Bible is the Answer as to Right and Wrong

You don’t have to wonder about this.

Enoch walked with God and he pleased God.

He heard God in a melody sweet and He heard God in the murmuring stream

– as the water rushed to the sea.

David said he leadeth me – in obeying the word of God.

You know you’re right – the prophet said “if Baal be God follow him but if God Jehova is God, follow him”.

The prophets of Baal ate at Jezebel’s table.

17th Chapter of Kings gives the most thrilling story how Ahab the King of Israel – He did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him.

He took to wife Jezebel who was a Baal worshipper.

So they built an alter for Baal.   Ahab made a Grove and it provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger – and Elijah the Tishbite said unto Ahab – as the Lord God of Israel livith before whom I stand, there shall not be dew or ram these years, but according to my word.

Elijah fed at the Cherith Arise, Go, I have commended a widow to feed thee.

He went and when he came to the city the widow woman was gathering wood – He called to her and said fetch me I pray thee a little water in a vessel that I may drink.  As she went to get the water he asked her to bring him some bread.

She said I do not have a cake, but just a handful of meal and just a little oil to cook it and then die.

Elijah said fear not but bring me some first, then make some for you and your son.  The meal and oil shall not waste until God seeds rain.

The widow’s son died and Elijah raised the widow’s son from the dead.

Elijah goes to meet Ahab – and there was a sore famine in Samaria.  There was a man of God in the land but he was out of touch with God – but he went and told Ahab and Ahab went to meet Elijah.  And when he saw Elijah he said “Art thou he that troubles Israel?”  No you and your father’s house, you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and followed Baalim.  Now send and gather Israel together to Mount Carmel and bring the prophets of Baal (450) and the prophets of the grove (400) which eat at Jezebel’s table.

Ahab did and gathered them unto Mount Carmel – Elijah came and said “How long will you be halted between the opinion’s if the Lord be God follow him – if Baal then follow him old Elijah.   THere is 450 of you give us two bullocks.  Let them choose one and I will dress ours.  Call out your God and I mine the one that auskuls by fire, Let him be God.  They pray and both call on their God to bring fire.  Even after they dumped water onto the wood, when Elijah called for the Lord to bring fire it came down from Heaven so strong that some of the prophets of Baal were killed.  Let it be known that the Lord God of Abraham is the real and true God.

2. Does the Bible have the Answer to the Peace Problem of the World?

Much is said about Peace.   Peace talks are going on all over.

Women are trying to get their husbands to have peace.

“My Peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you”.

3. The Bible has the Answer to Church Membership

Forsake not the assembling yourselves together – they were added to the church daily – Those that were saved.

When a man or woman is saved and don’t join some church they don’t amount to much.

4. God has the Answer to Temptation

Many times we bring on temptation by the places we go and the things we see.  But God will not let you be overcome by temptation.

He will make a way for you.

Job was tempted by the Devil.. Look at him.  Thank God for a man that stood the test.

But when we sin we can call on God and be cleansed from our sin.

5. The Bible has the Answer to Salvation

The Philippian jailor and his house were saved – ask him.

He asked “What must I do to be saved?”

Paul was happy to tell him.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house.

Phillip went to the desert place to meet one man on his way home from church or worship – lost Phillip preached Jesus to him and baptized him –

so the Bible has The Answer.
